salted caramel brownies

As you know already I am a chocoholic and once I laid eyes on this recipe there was no doubt that I would need to make these brownies every single week. Brownies are great by themselves and caramel is great by itself, but when you top brownies in caramel the flavors are out of this world. I have made brownies with caramel piece in the center, but smothering it in caramel is a whole new level. I couldn’t keep my hands off these, they were just too good. If you are looking for some dang rich brownies I would head right on down to this recipe and start making a batch.

  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • approximately 10 ounces caramel sauce

  • coarse sea salt (NOT OPTIONAL)

Preheat to 350ºF. Lightly grease a 9x9 baking dish.

Melt together the butter and the semi sweet chocolate. Let cool slightly.

Stir in the sugar and the eggs. Mix in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Fold in the chocolate chips.

Spread the batter in the prepared baking dish. Bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean.
